Paper plays a very significant role to the preservation and conservation of our environmental resources. For one, the material by which paper is made from comes from the environment. Paper is made from trees. This makes them biodegradable and thus the preferred shopping bag over plastics. Many environmentalists are also advocating the use of paper over other non-biodegradable material for the preservation of our environment and natural resources.

However, the careless use of paper is also equally detrimental to the environment. If we would continue to waste paper and paper manufacturing companies would continuously cut trees to produce paper as per the industry demands, then this could be serious threat to the environment. The dwindling number of trees is believe to cause flash floods and other natural calamities if we would not watch out.

To address this problem, the paper manufacturing companies are devising some projects and any other means for environmental sustainability. They have been pushing the widespread recycling of paper in order to save our poor rainforest and the environment in general. Sure, paper is biodegradable and using it could really help the environment. However, if we are to use paper mindlessly and carelessly, then it could be that we are adding to the burden of our environment.

It seems like we are very unmindful of the large number of trees that are being cut down everyday just to produce the paper that you would just ultimately waste and would not make a good sense out of it. So, if you would say that you care for the environment, you could either use paper in replacement for plastic and other non-biodegradable materials or also make sure that you are using paper wisely.

Environmental problems in relevance to that of trees and paper is really a very important and serious concern that we have to address. This is the reason why independent international organizations to ensure that are already existing. Their goal is to ensure sustainable forestry management practices and to deter illegal logging and deforestation. These groups make sure that all members of the supply chain - from forest owners through to timber yards, paper mills and printers – would comply to the ethical and environmental best-practice with the aim of ensuring illegally-logged wood does not enter the supply chain.

But then again, we should not leave the fate of our environment to these organizations. We should also do our part in making sure that our environment would still exist in the future.
